RESPONSIBILITIES OF BOARD OF GOVERNORS

The Board of Governors has overall responsibility for the effective management of the school. They are required to meet for a minimum of three times each year but in practice may meet more often than this. Their range of duties and responsibilities are diverse and would include such things as:

• Oversight of the Curriculum
• Control of the School Budget
• Provision of information to parents
• Selection of staff
• Maintenance of premises - a responsibility shared with Education Authority
• Admissions Policy
• Fostering links with the local community and pursuing the objectives of mutual understanding
