This week we had a visit from Miss Victoria Smith who was a second class passenger on board the Titanic and lady’s maid to Mrs Edwards. She shared with us what life was like for people on board the Titanic in the different class cabins and answered lots of questions from P6/7. She showed us lots of interesting items in her steamer trunk. Most of the items we had never seen before so it was fun guessing what they were for. Some of them included- smelling salts, a skirt lifter, a moustache cup, a button hook, a candle snuffer, a corset, a penny lick and a hair curler. Miss Smith had a plan to get across the Atlantic Ocean and then become free in America- little did she know what lay ahead!
