In Literacy, P6 have been learning about the features of Procedural Writing and so for Roald Dahl Day we followed instructions to make Dream Jars like the ones the BFG blew dreams from. In doing this task we learned lots of interesting science, like how oil is less dense than water and so floats on top of it. When we added salt, it sank to the bottom of the jar but then bubbles started to slowly emerge as oil carried to the bottom by the salt, started to find its way back to the top. We enjoyed watching the bubbles. They reminded us of a Lava Lamp.
