Primary 5 took part in a hands-on STEM investigation as part of their World Around Us topic “Prove It!”.
Working in groups, the children planned and designed their own Mesolithic homes, sharing ideas and giving peer feedback to improve their designs. They carefully selected materials before building their shelters.
Each home was then tested using a wind test with a hairdryer and a rain test with spray bottles. Pupils observed what happened, recorded results and discussed which materials worked best.
The homes turned out brilliantly and the children showed excellent teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills throughout the investigation.
