Confirmation

21st May 2026

Dear Parents,

Please find some important notes below about Confirmation tomorrow.

  • Confirmation will be celebrated on Friday 22nd May at 11am.  Children should be in their seats for 10.45am.
  •  Children will all sit together as a class to the right of the altar.  They all know their seats.  The sponsors will also sit together in reserved seating on the right-hand side of the altar.
  • When the sponsor arrives, they will be given the Confirmation card for their child by school staff.
  • There is no reserved seating for any family members other than the child and sponsor.

    When receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation;
  • Sponsors will be guided and directed by school staff and Bishop Donal, so no need to worry.
  • Sponsors should bring the Confirmation card with them when invited out of their seat.
  • When the sponsor meets their child, they stand to the left of the child and put their right hand on the child’s right shoulder.
  • The sponsor will announce the chosen Confirmation name to Bishop Donal when they are in front of him at the altar.
  • The sponsor and child then return to their seats.  A member of staff will collect the cards from the sponsor as they return to their seat.
  • There will be a photographer in attendance from 10am who will take photographs before the celebration begins.  We advise you allow for extra time if you wish to have your photographs taken.
  • The photographer will also be in the Open-Door Complex for photographs after the ceremony alongside Bishop Donal, where everyone is welcome for refreshments.
  • We will be taking a class photograph after the Mass.

We hope the children are looking forward to this special day and we wish them every blessing.

Thank you for helping to prepare the children and we hope you all have a special afternoon and that the sun will shine.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Convery
